Consumer Payouts is an independent news site that tracks money consumers can claim or are already owed: class action settlements, company and government refunds, rebates, reimbursements, unclaimed property, back wages, and restitution payments.
Why this site exists
Billions of dollars in consumer settlements and refunds go unclaimed every year. Not because people do not want the money, but because the notices are easy to miss, the eligibility rules are written for lawyers, and the deadlines pass quietly. Much of what is published about these payouts is either promotional or wrong.
We cover each payout the way a reader actually needs it: who qualifies, what the claim is realistically worth, what proof is required, when the deadline falls, and where the official filing page is.
What we are not
We are not a law firm, a claims filing service, or a settlement administrator. We do not file claims on anyone’s behalf, we do not represent claimants, and we never charge for the information on this site. Filing a legitimate claim is free, and any service asking for an upfront fee to recover money for you deserves scrutiny.
How we work
Every report links to the official administrator or government agency handling the payout, so you can verify what we publish and file directly. When a rule varies by state, we say so rather than presenting one state’s answer as national. When the law is unsettled, we say that too.
Our approach to sourcing and corrections is described in our Editorial Policy.
